Some leakers have shared details of the upcoming Intel Core Ultra 200 processor line. Intel would not have a Core Ultra 3 processor in the pipeline and the Core Ultra 9 285 would get a boost clock of 5.5GHz. Intel Z890 motherboards would have support for Thunderbolt 4.

According to VideoCardz on Weibo, the well-known leaker Golden Pig Upgrade claims that the Intel Core Ultra 200 processor line contains at least three SKUs: a Core Ultra 5 245K, a Core Ultra 7 265K and a Core Ultra 9 285K. Intel would not want to release a Core Ultra 3 sku, but instead plans to continue selling the current Intel Raptor Lake generation i3 chips.

MebiuW also shared details about the Core Ultra 9 285K via Weibo. That chip would have a boost clock frequency of approximately 5.5GHz. If these rumors are true, the Core Ultra 9 285K would have a lower boost clock than the 14th Gen i9-14900K. That CPU can handle a maximum boost of 6.0GHz.

The GPUs of Intel Core Ultra 200 chips will have a maximum of 4 Xe cores. That’s half as much as the fastest Intel Core Ultra 9 CPUs for laptops, which can contain up to 8 Xe computing cores. Some SKUs from the Core Ultra 200 line contain two or three Xe computing cores, according to Golden Pig Upgrade. According to the leaker, those cores are based on the Alchemist Xe-LPG architecture.

The Ultra Core 200 processors include Lion Cove P-cores and Intel has expanded the L2 cache of each of the P-cores to 3MB. According to leaker MebiuW on Weibo, the Skymont E-core cluster will have 3MB of L3 cache memory. Finally, Golden Pig Upgrade reports that the upcoming Intel Z890 motherboards will receive Thunderbolt 4 support. Just like the Core Ultra 200 CPUs, these motherboards use the new socket 1851 and, according to Wccftech, can be seen at the Computex 2024 fair, which will take place in Taiwan next month.

It is not the first time that the Intel Core Ultra 200 processor line has been in the news. Golden Pig Upgrade shared in April this year that Intel would change the name of the upcoming Arrow Lake CPUs to Core Ultra 200. With this step, Intel follows the new naming that the company recently introduced with Meteor Lake. Golden Pig Upgrade also claimed that Intel plans to introduce a refresh of its Raptor Lake-H laptop processors later this year. These chips would be part of the Core 200H series.

Intel announced in June last year that it would change its processor naming. The Intel Core Ultra 200 processor line should replace the fourteenth generation Intel chips later this year. It is not yet clear when Intel will bring the new CPUs to the market.
