Europapa by Joost Klein (26) is ‘by far’ the most popular entry on Spotify. The music streaming service announced on Monday that Joost Klein’s song is the most listened to of all participating countries in the world.

The song is ranked high in the list of most streamed entries in almost all European countries. The song has now been streamed almost 44.5 million times on Spotify. In the past month, the Dutch entry was listened to almost 20 percent more often than number two Italy. The Swedish duo Marcus & Martinus is in third place in terms of number of streams.

Based on the streaming data, Spotify thinks that Klein could do well in televoting. By the way, bookmakers currently think differently. Joost is currently in fifth place there with a 6 percent chance of winning. According to the betting houses, Baby Lasagna now has the best chances of winning with his song ‘Rim Tim Tagi Dim’ with a 28 percent chance of winning.

Last year Spotify got it right. Then the service predicted that Sweden’s Loreen would win. The year before, Spotify was wrong. Then the streaming service thought Italy would win, but Ukraine won. The year before, Spotify correctly predicted that Italy would win with the Italian rock band Måneskin.
