Wim Kieft makes public a shocking, vindictive and painful message from Marco van Basten

Wim Kieft made public a message that Marco van Basten sent him in the past in the Veronica Offside program on Monday evening. The two former attackers did not get along well and Van Basten has made that very clear to his fellow analyst in the past.

Wilfred Genee mentions the subject in the broadcast of Veronica Offside and asks about Van Basten’s past messages towards Kieft: “Yes, I received messages from Marco. He was very angry with me,” the former striker remembers. “I had said something about Johan Cruijff or something, it was something about the Cruijff revolution. The first message I received was from: hey, you with your sad life. He was actually right about that,” says Kieft, laughing.

The analyst did not think it was that bad at the time, but Veronica Offside’s table reacted with shock: “He is in his emotion, he also said from me you are not going to win, you couldn’t do that before. He was also right.” Kieft admits. The Veronica Offside analyst has no problem with Van Basten’s past statements. “I recently met him on the squash court and that went well, yes. Everyone is so concerned about criticism. It’s all part of it,” the analyst concludes.
