Last week Nathan Tjoe-A-On made his debut for Indonesia and today it was Thom Haye’s turn. Both SC Heerenveen players were worth their weight in gold against Vietnam, which was defeated 0-3. For Jay Idzes’ first goal, the midfielder provided the assist with a good corner and for the second goal it was the defender who set up Ragnar Oratmangoen. In the World Cup qualifying group, the red and white now have seven points from four games. The team is therefore second, behind Hussein Ali’s Iraq.

Hussein Ali has achieved a resounding victory with Iraq in and against the Philippines. The visitors scored no less than 0-5, meaning that after four games the team is still clear in qualifying for the world championship. In the first half, Ali was allowed to cheer three times when a goal was scored and two more were added after the break.
Monday March 25, 8:55 PM:
A week ago the counter was still at zero international matches, but Simon Olsson now has two to his name. He came on as a substitute on Thursday, but now he was in the starting line-up for Sweden against Albania. The midfielder from SC Heerenveen played the entire match. The match ended in a 1-0 win with a goal from Gustaf Nilsson after more than an hour of play.
Monday March 25, 6 p.m.:
Loizos Loizou was unable to achieve a result against Serbia today. Cyprus lost 1-0. Sergej Milinković-Savić scored the opening goal after just seven minutes. A few minutes later the margin could be doubled, but Aleksandar Mitrović missed a penalty. Loizou, who played 83 minutes, and his teammates were unable to come back.

Ion Nicolaescu has the first few minutes after his injury. The striker was on the bench during the match against Feyenoord, but did not come on as a substitute. This was the case with the Moldova national team. He came on in minute 58 against North Macedonia. At that moment, his country was 1-0 behind, but a goal from Vitalie Damascan ended the practice match in a draw.

Simon Olsson has made his debut for Sweden. The midfielder from SC Heerenveen arrived fifteen minutes before the end during the practice match against Portugal. It was no longer exciting then, because the Southern Europeans were ahead 5-1 at that moment. In the ninetieth minute the score became a little more bearable. Gustaf Nilsson scored the second goal for the away country.

Pawel Bochniewicz can continue to hope for a European Championship ticket, although he did not play during the play-off against Estonia. From the bench, the defender saw his compatriots win 5-1. Przemyslaw Frankowski gave Poland the lead in minute 22 and five minutes later there was another boost for the home country. The visitors had to continue with one man less because of a red card. After the break, Poland finished ahead, meaning the team will play the all-deciding match against Wales next week. The winner of that match will qualify for the final tournament next summer.

Oliver Braude was with Norway’s Under-20s in recent international matches, but now he made his first appearance in the Young Team. He made his debut with a victory over the Netherlands, which was defeated 1-2 in the Goffert Stadium. The right back of SC Heerenveen played in the second half. Both teams scored before halftime. Already in the first minute, Joel Mugisha gave the visitors the lead, after which Ruben van Bommel equalized after fifteen minutes. The winning goal came ten minutes after the break from Andreas Schjeldedrup.

Hussein Ali won 1-0 against the Philippines. The match seemed to end without goals for a long time, although the right back of SC Heerenveen was very close to a goal. Just before the break he tried to score a goal, but his long shot ended up on the post. In minute 84, Iraq was still allowed to cheer. Muhanad Ali provided the deserved win. The home country was in control and had more than eighty percent possession of the ball.

Loizos Loizou was important for Cyprus, which drew 1-1 against Latvia. On the island, the winger hired by SC Heerenveen provided the assist for Ioannis Pittas’ opening goal. For a long time it seemed like it would be the winning goal. In the first half the visitors missed a penalty, but five minutes before regular time ended, Loizou and his teammates still conceded a goal. At that moment the winger had already been substituted. He participated for 62 minutes.

Nathan Tjoe-A-On can officially call himself an Indonesian international. The defender, who is on loan from Swansea City by SC Heerenveen, started today in the home match against Vietnam and participated in one half.
