Tour winner Vollering will leave the success formation SD Worx after this season

Cyclist Demi Vollering is in her final year with the successful SD Worx formation. Sports director Danny Stam confirmed this to cycling site GCN.

The departure of 27-year-old Vollering, who won the Tour de France last year, is the result of the contract extension of Belgian world champion Lotte Kopecky, who recently signed a contract until 2028.

“We tried to keep the team together, but as far as Demi is concerned, that didn’t work,” says Stam. “I think it is clear that we cannot keep two riders of that level in our team. A matter of budget.”
