Arsenal inflicted a painful defeat on Chelsea on Tuesday. Coach Mikel Arteta’s team won the London derby 5-0 and did well in the title battle.

Chelsea’s decline started in the fourth minute. Leandro Trossard surprised goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic in the short corner and put leader Arsenal at 1-0. Chelsea was still dangerous at the Emirates Stadium before halftime, but failed to score without the ill star player Cole Palmer.

In the second half, Arsenal rolled over the number nine of the Premier League. ‘The Gunners’ doubled the score in the 52nd minute when Ben White, with a bit of luck, was able to score the ball from close range. Five minutes later, Kai Havertz shot flawlessly into the roof of the goal after an excellent pass from Martin Ødegaard: 3-0.

Havertz scored his second goal of the evening in the 65th minute by shooting near the penalty spot. White also scored again, although this was with a bit of luck. The Englishman wanted to cross the ball, but his off-swinger flew into the goal: 5-0.

The victory puts Arsenal at the top with 77 points from 34 games. Liverpool follows in second place with three points less, but also one game less. Manchester City is third with 73 points, but has only played 32 games.
