Feyenoord found a new head of youth training on Monday. The Rotterdam team takes over 29-year-old Belgian Zeb Jacobs from Rangers FC, where he has worked since the beginning of 2022.

Jacobs signs for three years and is the successor to Rini Coolen at Feyenoord, who will leave after this season. Feyenoord and Coolen are parting ways due to “different insights”, the club announced in November.

Jacobs was also head of youth development at Rangers. The relatively young Belgian was previously a youth coach at KV Mechelen. Before leaving for Rangers, he held the same position at Royal Antwerp.

“If a big club like Feyenoord signs up for you, that is not only a compliment, but also a wonderful opportunity,” says Jacobs, who was reportedly also in the interest of Manchester City, about his transfer.

“It is my honorable task to take Varkenoord to the next level together with all coaches and other staff members and thus be the connecting link to and lifeline of Feyenoord 1.”

Feyenoord will normally finish second in the Eredivisie this season. The team of coach Arne Slot will meet PEC Zwolle (home), NEC (away) and Excelsior (home) in the last three rounds.
