The cup final between Jong FC Volendam and Feyenoord Under 21 will be canceled (for the time being), the Municipality of Edam-Volendam decided on Monday afternoon. The match was scheduled for Saturday afternoon, at 2:30 PM, but cannot take place because Volendam’s main force will play against Ajax one day later.
The municipality of Edam-Volendam has therefore decided that safety surrounding the match cannot be guaranteed, so a new playing date must be found. “The coincidence of the match on Saturday against Feyenoord and on Sunday against Ajax is expected to cause possible safety problems,” reads the FC Volendam club website.

“A suitable new date is therefore being considered in consultation with the KNVB, Feyenoord and the Municipality of Edam-Volendam,” the statement continues.
