Charles Leclerc recorded the second fastest time in qualifying in Miami today. The Monegasque Ferrari driver did his best, but pole position was too high. Leclerc states that he was driving at full speed on the scorching hot circuit around the Hard Rock Stadium.

Leclerc showed in the sprint race and sprint qualifying that he is in good shape. The Monegasque recorded the second fastest time in both sessions, and he repeated that feat in the regular qualifying. Leclerc tried in his second run, but he was unable to improve in the three sectors. He was certainly not the only one, because Carlos Sainz, Verstappen and the Mercedes were also unable to improve.

Leclerc reacted fairly positively to his day afterwards. The Monegasque felt good and spoke to interviewer James Hinchcliffe: “It felt like we were really on the limit. It was very close until we started pushing for the last tenths in Q3, and we lost the tires in sector two and three. They got a bit hot. We lost a bit of time there today. But tomorrow’s race is long, this morning in the sprint we showed a good pace, so I hope we can put more pressure on Max.”
