Kenneth Perez will appear on the television program on Monday evening Football talk by ESPN with remarkable advice for Ronald Koeman. The Danish analyst advises the national coach of the Dutch national team to consider a smaller role in the preparation for the European Championship.

De Jong is currently struggling with an ankle injury, sustained on April 21 in Barcelona’s match against Real Madrid. The technician is normally a certainty in the Oranje’s midfield, but according to Perez, Koeman would do well to take into account that De Jong will not be fit in time for the European Championship.

“I don’t know whether we should make Frenkie de Jong so important now. I can hardly imagine that he will be really fit when the European Championships start,” says the analyst. “He has been injured a lot. Now it’s his ankle again. The question is of course whether you can play that important role if you three minutes to twelve reconnect.”

“Maybe the national coach should really start thinking differently, with different midfielders,” Perez continues. “No matter how painful that is, because Frenkie de Jong in top form is of course crucial for this Dutch team. Maybe the national coach should look differently.”
