says he has made one of the most difficult decisions of his football career. The midfielder currently plays in the Netherlands for NEC, but that is only on a rental basis. Chery will not return to Maccabi Haifa, the club where he is under contract. Both the footballer and the club have now confirmed the news.

Chery said on Instagram that it was a difficult decision. “Leaving this great club after five incredible years is one of the hardest decisions I have ever made,” the 35-year-old footballer opens on the message. “As captain, I put my heart and soul into every match and cherished every moment with this incredible club.”

“To my teammates, coaches and fans, thank you for making this journey unforgettable. The memories we made together will stay with me forever. Even though I move on, a piece of my heart will always stay here. The love for this team will never fade. Forever grateful,” concludes the 35-year-old NEC football player.
