In NEC on Rapport, every NEC player who has played for at least half an hour receives a grade. This figure is given by a multi-member editorial team, consisting of fans of the Nijmegen club. NEC needed an hour to get started against Excelsior, but then won fairly easily against Excelsior.

Roefs 6.5
Because Jasper Cillessen called out sick in the morning, Robin Roefs was allowed to report under the bar again. And it is great that the 21-year-old immediately performs so calmly and solidly again.

Pereira 4.5
The right back is in a very mediocre period and was also below average against Excelsior. Brayann Pereira can defend reasonably well one-on-one, but is very restless with the ball. Not to mention his crosses.

Ross 6
The Danish defender has the thankless task of replacing Philippe Sandler, but he does it well. Of course, Mathias Ross’s constructive qualities are less, but he doesn’t do anything crazy and is there when he has to.

Nuytinck 6.5
At the end he got it on his hips and conjured up a pirouette. Bram Nuytinck is clearly in better shape than six months ago and also played well against Excelsior.

Verdonk 6.5
Just another great match from Calvin Verdonk. Almost surprised Stijn van Gassel with his free kick, but was left with two free kicks.

Clean 7
After his injury, he is slowly regaining his old form. Dirk Proper was at the heart of many NEC attacks and it shows: Proper prepared both the first and the last goal.

Sano 6
The Japanese is placed everywhere, but still works best as a midfielder. Meijer therefore posted him as number ten in Kralingen. Sano did a good job in combination and defensively, but there are still steps to be taken based on creativity for an attacking midfielder.

Hoedemakers 7
The Proper – Hoedemakers tandem has been restored to its former glory and is functioning like never before. The midfielder, who came over from Cambuur, was also unapproachable on the ball.

Chery 7
Until the 60th minute, Tjaronn Chery would get away with a 5, but an important quality of his is his goal-orientedness. With two beautiful goals he single-handedly decided the match in Nijmegen’s favor.

Sow 5
According to Rogier Meijer, Koki Ogawa has been ‘less in all facets’ in recent weeks, but his choice for Sylla Sow did not turn out well. He was substituted after 72 minutes without really having accomplished anything.

Boss 5.5
Youri Baas is not enough of a pure attacker to start as a left winger against a team like Excelsior. That does not alter the fact that he provided a ready-made assist for Chery.

Substitutes Koki Ogawa, Sontje Hansen, Rober González and Lasse Schöne did not play enough to qualify for an assessment.
