with summaryReal Madrid will compete for the fifteenth Champions League victory in club history. The Royal defeated Matthijs de Ligt’s Bayern Munich in a thrilling semi-final, with two Madrid goals in the absolute final phase (2-1). A clash with Borussia Dortmund awaits in the final at Wembley.

It was Joselu who set Santiago Bernabéu on fire. The attacker came on in minute 81 and single-handedly shot his team to the final. First he benefited from a scramble by Manuel Neuer, who released a shot from Vinicius and saw Joselu score from close range. Three minutes later came the final blow for the Germans: after a tight cross from Antonio Rüdiger, the German-born Spaniard became the absolute hero. It led to an enormous explosion of joy on the Madrid side after the final whistle.

And while the Madrid fans suddenly became deathly quiet after 68 minutes. Alphonso Davies, who has been coveted by Real Madrid for years, gave Bayern Munich the lead, completely against the odds. Bayern went into survival mode and seemed to be going to the final, but then suddenly there was Joselu. With his unprecedented blow, he still pronounced the verdict for De Ligt and associates, who saw the disaster season get a new chapter.

Real escaped in the thirteenth minute of injury time. De Ligt scored to make it 2-2, but his goal was disallowed because Noussair Mazraoui would have been offside. However, that didn’t seem to be the case. However, the referee was decisive and put an end to the goal, allowing Real to reach the final.

It was anything but undeserved. Real Madrid had the better of the game all evening and had the biggest chances in the opening phase. Vinicius Junior hit the post after fifteen minutes of play, after which Rodrygo tapped in the ball from the rebound. However, his effort was cleverly parried by Bayern goalkeeper Manuel Neuer, who kept his team going with a few saves. At the other end of the pitch, the biggest opportunity was for Harry Kane. His beautiful volley was barely saved by Real goalie Andriy Loenin.

Bayern came out of the dressing room strong and had a chance through Kane, but escaped ten minutes after the break. Rodrygo’s effort bounced just centimeters past the post. Shortly afterwards, Vinicius, the most dangerous man on the field, saw his shot land on Neuer’s fists. Real dictated, but could not make the difference on the scoreboard.

Real Madrid comments

“There were many times when we seemed dead and buried,” said Jude Bellingham after the win. “But we have that mentality that we never give up.” Coach Carlo Ancelotti was proud. “It happened again. It happens so often,” the coach said. “The fans help us further, a fantastic stadium and players who continue to believe in it. It’s something magical.”

Joselu turns it around

After Bayern came out of nowhere to 0-1, Real seemed to be heading for elimination. However, Joselu turned the match completely around in the end. The negative leading role for the blundering Neuer in the 1-1 was painful, especially because he kept his team going in the previous phase. At 2-1 he had no chance. Joselu’s goal was initially ruled out for offside, but VAR ruled that the goal was legal.

End of second half

Last! Real Madrid are heading to the final of the Champions League after a crazy night at the Bernabéu. Bayern were about to go to Wembley, but a blunder by Manuel Neuer allowed Real to come alongside. Joselu took advantage and the same Joselu then also made it 2-1. Bayern thought they could make it 2-2 deep into injury time, but the goal of Matthijs de Ligt was canceled due to offside Noussair Mazaroui. Bayern protested, but the referee followed his assistant. No VAR called to the screen by the Polish referee, but elimination for Bayern, for which the already dismal season fizzled out. Final score: 2-1.

VAR: GOAL confirmed

90’+1′

2-1 GOAL by Joselu!

What a bizarre denouement at the Bernabéu. Joselu’s equalizer came after a painful blunder by the excellent goalkeeping Neuer. The substitute striker then stays behind the ball when Mendy delivers a tailor-made cross. The striker, child of the club, taps the ball in and seems to send Real to Wembley. Elimination of Bayern close.

Time is running out for Real. After Davies’ goal, Bayern put up a wall with five defenders. Try breaking through that. A tactical move by Tuchel. Will the curtain fall for Real or will star player Vinicius take the team by the hand?

Rodrygo is replaced by Brahim Diaz

Federico Valverde is replaced by Joselu

The spaces are getting bigger. This means that Bayern will get more chances. Kane with the 0-2 on the shoe. The striker shoots into the side netting. No 45th goal for him.

VAR: GOAL is denied

1-1 GOAL by Federico Valverde!

A lightning-fast response from Real to Bayern’s 0-1. Valverde with a kind of touch. Only the goal is canceled due to a foul by Nacho who pushes Kimmich in the face. It remains 0-1.

0-1 GOAL by Alphonso Davies!

What a story. Substitute Davies opens the scoring. With his inferior right leg he curls the ball in at the second post. Especially against the club that would like to sign him. How does Real react?
