Dominique Janssen has won the German Cup with VfL Wolfsburg. The Dutch international contributed a goal to a 2-0 win over Bayern Munich in the cup final in Cologne on Thursday.

For the Wolfsburg women’s team it is the tenth cup win in a row and the eleventh in total. Janssen, who played the entire match, was accurate with a header five minutes before half-time. She scored the 2-0, after Jule Brand had provided the opening goal within fifteen minutes with a long shot.

Lynn Wilms was also in the starting line-up for Wolfsburg and also played the entire match. Fenna Kalma was in the match selection, but did not leave the bench. Jill Baijings did not get any playing minutes at Bayern.

The cup win is the only main prize for Wolfsburg this season. In the competition, the team can no longer catch up with national champion Bayern, with two matches to go in the Bundesliga Women. Wolfsburg is second and can no longer be overtaken by number three Eintracht Frankfurt.
