Jerry St. Juste is on the radar of newly crowned champion PSV. The 27-year-old defender had a difficult year due to injuries at Sporting, which was crowned Portuguese champion last weekend. Despite a 2023/24 with peaks and valleys, St. Juste remains a particularly interesting option for the people of Eindhoven. Analysis of an explosive defender who has continued to develop well after leaving the Netherlands.

HAlthough PSV is first aiming to equal the best season score ever in the Eredivisie after winning the national title, the people of Eindhoven are already busy in the background with the selection for 2024/25. After an extremely successful transfer summer in 2023, PSV now has the opportunity to move on. After all, the lower limit in the selection is high, and Champions League participation ensures that more luxurious options are less likely to turn their noses up at staying with an Eredivisie team.

It makes sense on paper that Jerry St. Juste is one of the candidates to strengthen the national champion. He speaks the language, is approaching his peak age and has had to perform at a serious level in the Bundesliga and Portuguese title race over the past five seasons. Since the rental period of Armel Bella-Kotchap will soon come to an end, Shurandy Sambo has so far been found wanting and the future of veteran André Ramalho is not yet 100 percent clear, PSV also needs reinforcement on the right side of the defense.

In practice, St. Juste also appears to be a more than logical transfer target. This is evident from an extensive analysis of his images – although there is one (major) point of doubt that the Groningen native still has to dispel.
