REGION – A truck crashed into a passenger car on the A15 near Ridderkerk on Thursday afternoon. This happened around 12:45 p.m. The driver of the car was seriously injured.
An air ambulance was present at the location to provide assistance and landed on the A15. The driver of the car was rushed to hospital.
Road closed
The accident closed the A15 between Alblasserdam and the Ridderkerk junction. A traffic jam developed on the A16, causing a delay of more than half an hour. The road was cleared around 2 p.m.
Stationary car
Images from the truck driver showed that the accident was caused by a car that stopped in the middle of the road. The images show how a white truck just manages to avoid the car. There is no escape for the next truck.
