Before King’s Day, Princess Ariane came over from Italy, where she is completing the first year of the international baccalaureate.
She speaks Italian a little better, said the youngest daughter of King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima, when asked about her studies at the United World College Adriatic in Italy.

“It’s a very nice experience, for sure,” said 17-year-old Ariane. “I’m glad to be back, because I missed my parents.” When asked about moments when she misses her parents the most, she said “a little bit every day, sure, it’s a distance.”

Her Italian for now is “così così,” she said laughing, which means so-so, “but I’m working on it.” One of her sisters chimed in by saying that things are “getting better every day”. Ariane agreed with that.

For the visit to Emmen, Ariane wore a red-brown suit from Max Mara, complete with a hip cardigan, according to Josine from Fashion Queen Máxima.
