Married At First Sight-Erik is criticized by husband Gerben

That things are not going well between Erik and Gerben Married At First Sight we recently saw. The duo has been married for weeks, but there is no intimacy. For Erik it’s a matter of ‘taking it easy’, for Gerben it’s a thorn in the side (and perhaps also in the heart). During a session with presenter Carlo Boszhard and the attendee MAFSexperts gives Gerben Erik a swipe at the pan.

Last week we saw how the couple arrived separately for the couples week. Then Boszard grilled them, and especially Erik, about how things are going between them. Erik denied that there was anything wrong with it, while Gerben walked around with his soul under his arm. Now it’s time for the final conversation.

Married At First Sight-Gerben: ‘Play performed’

“What feeling do you have here?” wants to know presenter Boszhard van Gerben, who initially joined on his own. He mentions that he has mixed feelings. “After this whole adventure I wonder who Erik actually is. I think I did everything I could, but in love I immediately felt that something was wrong.”

Gerben also says that he told Erik that if he wasn’t his type, he could just say so. “But he said: ‘That’ll be fine, we’ll get to know each other after the program.’ I feel like he put on a play. It may be harsh for me to say this, but I have thought it before.”

After this conversation, Erik himself also joins us. He is told a short summary of what Gerben has said and immediately seems shocked by it. Gerben: “I think… what do you want? Do you want to go further, do you want to push me down a little? Those kind of things.” Erik is also visibly shocked by this.

‘I really can’t understand that’

“However, I wanted to get close to you,” Erik says to Gerben, after he indicates that he is shocked by how Gerben felt. “I wanted to get closer last weekend, but Gerben was supposed to call, he didn’t, and neither did he the day after. Then I got a message that he needed rest.” Gerben: “I was the one who texted every morning: good morning darling, she’s working today. In the end I left that and there was little contact for six days.”

“I remain of the opinion: if you really care about someone, you make more of an effort,” Gerben urges Erik. “Not speaking to each other for six days, that hurts.” Erik, however, indicates that he has a ‘very different’ view. “But I do notice that I care about you. I always think about you too.” But Gerben doesn’t get it: “I really can’t understand that,” he concludes.
