The GTST rumors are true: Kees Boot is leaving Meerdijk ‘temporarily’

--

‘GTST’ viewers once again have to (temporarily) say goodbye to a beloved character. Videoland has already shown how doctor Luuk (Kees Boot, 54) says goodbye to Meerdijk. “For the time being,” he says, so that offers viewers hope for a return. But will this soon also mean the departure of Linda (Babette van Veen, 55)?

“I’ll see where the ship ends up”

After a number of relationship therapy sessions, Linda and Luuk decide to part ways ‘permanently’ and ‘as friends’. “We really did our best, but we kept running into the same thing every time. And that was really insurmountable,” they say in conversation with friends Ludo and Janine, whose marriage is also in dire straits.

To give Linda some relief, Luuk leaves the soap village. ‘Just for a while’ and ‘for the time being’, he says about the expected timeframe that Meerdijkers will have to do without doctor Luuk. He jumps on the boat the same day. “I’ll see where the ship ends up,” he says to Linda about his destination. He promises to give his ex-fiancée ‘a sign of life’ every now and then.

New policy at GTST: after Merel and Stefano, Linda and Luuk are also gone?

Previously, RTL did not want to comment on the rumor that in addition to Merel and Stefano, who will return soon, Luuk and Linda are also (temporarily) taking a break. This could have to do with the roles of Babette and Kees in the musical 40-45. There is also a new policy GTST, to temporarily write some characters out of the series. “This is done for the benefit of the series, to give other storylines more attention. This will happen more often.”

For the time being, however, Linda does not seem to be leaving the series. She was recently at the filming in Curaçao, about which we spoke to Jette van der Meij and Caroline De Bruijn at the airport before departure:
