There are great concerns about Wies, the 78-year-old mother of Frans Bauer. Although she still lives on her own, according to Frans she does need care every day. “She sometimes calls ten times a day with the same thing.”
Frans has taken care of his mother so that she can continue to live in her caravan for as long as possible. “She is already 79,” Frans tells the weekly magazine Weekend. “She is slightly forgetting. She has early forgetfulness.”
Need care every day
Wies can still live on his own. “But she does need our care every day,” Frans explains. “She no longer cooks herself, we do that for her, but that forgetfulness is there. Short-term memory is difficult for her. So then she sometimes calls ten times in one day with the same thing.”
According to Frans, it’s all part of it. “This morning too, I already spoke to her on the phone five times. I really like that. I’ll visit her later and bring her some chickens.”
The Bauers
The Bauer family will soon return to television with their reality series The Bauers – 20 Years Later. Wies will also be seen in the series. “I also think it’s special that my mother is now there again The Bauers. That is not something that is self-evident at all.”
