‘What an adventure!’ he writes with a photo of himself as drag queen Luna Leftover. He says he has undergone a ‘complete transformation’. ‘To slowly transform from a construction worker in pumps over the past few months, heel by heel, to Miss Luna.’
Manuel believes it is important to be able to be himself and wants to normalize this in society. ‘Being who you are is the most normal thing in the world for me.’ Manuel experiences firsthand that this is not always the case. ‘I want to show my children (13 & 15 years old) that they can be who they are.’ He also wants to support his sister and nephew, ‘who used to be a niece’. ‘And say that I am very proud of them.’
The adventure is not quite over yet, because Manuel is on stage together with the other candidates Make Up Your Mind In Concert. ‘I didn’t have to think long when I was asked by Carlo Boszhard and his team to participate.’ Manuel ends his message with a big thank you to the entire team Make Up Your Mind. ‘What dedication, what a warm bath. Thank you.’
