Straight through the Low Countries
Let’s first start with perhaps the most popular program of Sunday evening: Dwars Door de Lage Landen. If you search for X (formerly Twitter) there is literally not one negative note to be found. But what do you want, ending your weekend with slow TV with images that you don’t often see of the Netherlands, is certainly enjoyable for the 886,000 viewers. Arnout Hauben and his companions have arrived in Flevoland and visit Silvia, the first winegrower in Flevoland to make sparkling wine. Only Silvia is seriously ill and that makes for an impressive conversation.
NOS Liberation Day
And of course it was Liberation Day. Many recordings of various concerts throughout the country were shown on TV. Primetime NOS broadcast the May 5 concert live from the Amstel in Amsterdam. 857,000 viewers enjoyed various performances such as Guus Meeuwis, Emma Kok, Flemming and April Darby. Frits Spits and Karsu presented the concert and could count on positive reactions.
PSV – Sparta
It was an exciting day in the Eredivisie. For a few clubs it was make or break in terms of relegation, but for PSV it was a very festive day. The Eindhoven team managed to win 4-2 against Sparta and were therefore in front of the 25e times national champion. The match itself was watched live by 538,000 viewers and the ceremony by 318,000.
The Orange Sunday
Those who could cheer a little less loudly this morning were Art Rooijakkers and Hélène Hendriks. Rooijakkers Over de Vloer started last night with Rico Verhoeven as the first guest. Apparently not many people are interested in the boxer, because the first episode was watched by 446,000 viewers. Hélène Hendriks managed to attract 551,000 viewers with De Oranjezondag, which is a lot less than in previous weeks. The talk show is not even in the top 10 most watched programs of the evening. Code van Coppens was good for 600,000 viewers.
