MADRID – In 2014, the then nun Cristina Scuccia won the Italian version of ‘The Voice’. She then did with her rendition of the song ‘No one’ by Alicia Keys and the rest of the songs that followed. After that, her life was not the same anymore. On her own Wikipedia page you can read that she got a contract with Universal Records and that she has her own website called sistercristinaoffical.com . But the 34-year-old is no longer a nun and admitted over the weekend that she now lives in Spain where she works as a singer and waitress.

Cristina Scuccia (known as Sister Christina or Sister Cristina) is an Italian singer who won the 2014 season of The Voice of Italy. She was an Ursuline nun for ten years, from 2012 to 2022. In 2013, she won a Christian music competition as part of the Good News Festival. In October 2014, the video for ‘Like A Virgin’ was published, an own version of the famous Madonna song. That song is part of her album ‘Blessed be your name’.

But last weekend After several years of absence, Cristina appeared in the Italian television program ‘Verissimo’ on Canale 5 with a completely different look . She was no longer a nun but sat in the chair in a red suit. She said that nowadays she is no longer a nun and lives in Spain where she continues her career as a singer and as a waitress to earn some money.

Cristina says she still believes in God and that she won’t just give up her faith, which is deep within her. But after 15 years of a religious life having lived, the global media attention has done its negative work, making her think about life and her future. She had to be helped by a psychologist because she couldn’t see a way out of the darkness she was in. She has now found that way out in Spain where, until now, she lived anonymously.
