Ping Price, the mobile app that compares products from supermarkets, is now also available to Dutch consumers. After launching the app in Belgium last year, the start-up is now focusing on the Dutch market. With the free app, consumers can compare prices from different supermarkets, such as Albert Heijn, Jumbo, Dirk, Plus, Coop, Hoogvliet and, soon, Dekamarkt.

By scanning the barcode of a product, the price of the product appears at various supermarkets in the area. This gives consumers quick insight into where they can do their shopping most cheaply. If they do not have the product at hand to scan the barcode, they can look up the product by brand and name using the search function. The app also offers the option to manage your own shopping cart and receive notifications when a product changes price or is on sale.

SaaS solutions for businesses

Food manufacturers, distributors and supermarkets can use PingPrice’s SaaS solutions to monitor prices, compare margins, time offers well and gain quick and clear insight into market movements. PingPrice fully anonymizes user data and complies with GDPR guidelines, ensuring consumer privacy. In addition, product prices are continuously updated, so users always have access to real-time information.

‘Scan and go’ app

Founder and CEO of PingPrice Christophe Echement says: “The Netherlands is a perfect market for PingPrice. Price comparison sites are popular in the Netherlands, but there is not yet a ‘scan and go’ app for everyday groceries. Just like Belgium, the Netherlands is also struggling with significant inflation, causing grocery prices to rise. Our mission is to help consumers fill their kitchen cupboards as honestly and cheaply as possible. In addition, the high level of digitalization in the Netherlands convinced us to make it our first foreign market, not only for consumers, but also for retail partners. “
