Good news for homeowners with a modest income in Drenthe: a new subsidy has been made available to promote home insulation.

The municipality of Assen announces that homeowners can receive up to 2,500 euros with this subsidy. Insulating your home not only provides more comfort during hot or cold days, but also lower energy bills and reduced CO2 emissions. The scheme applies to all municipalities in Drenthe and is implemented by the Northern Netherlands Partnership (SNN).

The subsidy can be used for various insulation work, such as cavity wall insulation, facade insulation and floor insulation. “Applicants do not have to worry about costs for ecological research if they use a company for insulation that is certified for nature-friendly insulation,” writes the municipality of Assen. An ecological investigation is necessary to investigate, for example, whether there are bats in the cavity.

A condition for the subsidy is that the annual income of the applicant(s) is less than 34,100 euros, in addition, the work must be carried out within one year after payment of the subsidy and a signed quotation must be submitted with the application.

The insulation subsidy can be applied for via the SNN website. This will then be assessed within eight weeks.
