In NOW you catch up Today we will tell you what we do with weather forecasts. We also discuss dynamic energy contracts and take a look at a significantly renovated Doornroosje.

While a number of other media already wrote on Tuesday about the first summer day of the year, we had to wait a little longer. But today the message was still there: “First (local) summer day is coming, despite the lack of radiant weather.” Editor Robbert van der Linde explains why we are sometimes a bit cautious with weather forecasts.

“We write less about long-term weather forecasts, because that is usually still too uncertain. After all, nothing is as changeable as the weather. We don’t want to promise people a beautiful beach day if it doesn’t happen.”

Why is it that we pay relatively much attention to the weather? “We know that people like to read about the weather. That is why we also have the daily weather report and twice a week a more extensive weather report for the week and the weekend. Also popular are the milestones, such as the first warm, summer or tropical day of the year. years. Or special phenomena, such as rare cloud types.”

On to energy contracts: more and more people are opting for a dynamic energy contract. You can save by using energy at the most favorable time of the day. How exactly does that work?

With a dynamic contract you hear daily what the hourly electricity prices are for the coming day. The same applies to the gas price for the whole day. If there is a lot of supply or little demand for electricity on the market at a certain time, the price is lower.

There are now dozens of suppliers of dynamic energy, but their prices vary considerably. Editor Thijs Rösken found out why the prices differ and what you should pay attention to when entering into a dynamic contract.

Last Friday, a second banga list with personal information of students from Utrecht appeared. A first list appeared a few weeks ago.

Being on such a list can have a lot of impact on the people concerned. Editor Maurice Hettfleisch von Ehrenhelm spoke about this with two women who were once on a banga list. You can read their story below.

We close today with light-hearted news from Kaatsheuvel. The transformation of Sleeping Beauty into Efteling has not gone unnoticed by amusement park visitors. Sleeping Beauty could not be admired in the Fairytale Forest for several months because she was undergoing a makeover.

She can now be found back at her ‘resting place’ with a new cut and new cup size. The Efteling leaves it to it Brabants Dagblad know that it is not an April Fool’s joke and that the breasts have really been enlarged. “It is indeed true that the breasts have become slightly larger. We just did not expect it to be so noticeable,” says a spokesperson.
