Sunday May 5 is Liberation Day. The whole of the Netherlands celebrates freedom on this day. There is also plenty to do and experience in Utrecht. DUIC lists the activities:

Liberation Festival Utrecht

Where: Park Transwijk
When: Sunday May 5, 12:30 PM
Price: free

As always, Liberation Day will be celebrated in a grand manner this year in Park Transwijk. With two stages, a children’s festival and a food court, you can spend the entire afternoon and evening at the festival. The doors open at 12:30 PM, after which you can listen to performances by Bankzitters, DeWolff and Claude. The doors close at 10:15 PM and the last act ends at 11:00 PM. Still feel like partying? Still not done partying after the Utrecht Liberation Festival? Then go to De After at TivoliVredenburg. Dance until late at night to the electronic music of Nèna, Passion DEEZ and Tsepo. The doors open at 10:30 PM.

Freeport Festival

Industry is also present again this year! Of Freeport Festival they organize a party in the entire area of ​​the Industry, from BOOT122 to the Kunstkade. The Utrecht Liberation Festival organizes an extensive program in the Neude Library together with various Utrecht partners. Lectures, master classes and workshops are given between 1:00 PM and 5:00 PM. In addition, walks are offered and an extensive film program is available.

Freedom Lectures Live: a talk show about freedom

The talk show Freedom Colleges Live! is now a permanent part of the Utrecht Liberation Festival. This year, former politicians are going Hedy d’Anconapolitical advisor Devika Partiman and actress Ayla Çekin Satin led by writer and program maker Sophia Blyden in conversation about freedom and women’s rights. In collaboration with FOTODOK, matching images from photographers all over the world will be shown during the evening.
