Description

A couple decided to sell their boat in September last year. They place an advertisement, to which a man quickly responds that he is interested. On September 17, the couple agrees to meet the man in Zwolle. They discuss the sale of the boat and a next day to go over things again.

The second meeting took place on September 27. Some agreements were again discussed, but this time the buyer also stated that he would like to take over gold and pay the sellers 4% more. The buyers then indicate that they are not familiar with selling/trading gold and that they do not agree with it. When the parties have left, the buyer calls again. He persuades the sellers to sell gold to him anyway. The sellers live in Germany and get gold worth €30,000 there. They agree to meet on Wednesday, October 11 in Utrecht.

The selling party has the gold in a shoulder bag and will meet the buyer in a restaurant located at the Janskerkhof in Utrecht. Around 12:45 the parties are in the restaurant and the buyer asks for the gold. At that moment they show the gold and things happen very quickly. The buyer hands over a well-packed package of money (which later turns out to be fake money), after which he takes the gold out of the bag and then indicates that he wants to check the gold first in the toilet of the restaurant. Even before a response can be given to this action, the seller is already on his way to the toilet. The man looks at the package of money, doesn’t quite trust it and walks to the toilet. Unfortunately, it turns out that the buyer has already flown through a different exit than the way he entered.

The man was captured when he went to pick up the victims outside the restaurant and when he went to the toilet to check the gold bars for authenticity. Who is the man or where is he staying
