She lay down for a while because she didn’t feel well. But GP Fanne Galjaard never woke up. She died of cardiac arrest. Galjaard had a general practice, but was moving to the hospital. Now that her husband wants to continue that practice as manager, other general practitioners have objected. “I want to continue her legacy.”

After the death of his wife, Maarten Godijn automatically became the owner of her one-man practice. Three acting general practitioners have taken over the care of the patients and Godijn takes care of the practical matters. There would be no problem if Galjaard had not terminated the lease of the current building on Ruychrocklaan in The Hague shortly before her death. Or if the move to the new location – the transition would take place on January 1 – had already been completed.
