From May 13 to June 21, the municipality will be working on the intersection of ‘t Goylaan with Linschotensingel and Scherpenburglaan. The intersection will be easier to cross for cyclists and pedestrians. In addition, the municipality is replacing the traffic lights with dosing lights, allowing the road to handle traffic better. During these works, ‘t Goylaan towards ‘t Goyplein is closed from the priority square at Hooft Graaflandstraat.

At this time, queues of cars often form at the traffic lights at the intersection, causing delays for buses. Cyclists and pedestrians also have to wait a long time at the traffic lights. The new dosing lights ensure that cars spend less time standing still and that there is enough space for cyclists and pedestrians to cross safely.

Thermal camera
A thermal camera will be placed at the pedestrian crossing. This camera recognizes waiting pedestrians by their warmth. If the wait is too long, the camera turns the dosing light for cars to red, so that pedestrians have enough time to cross. This is mainly intended for people who need a little more time to cross, such as the elderly or people with disabilities.
During the work, traffic towards ‘t Goyplein and Waterlinieweg will be diverted via Europalaan-Zuid and A12. This is necessary because otherwise the municipality would not have enough space to carry out the work safely. Traffic from ‘t Goyplein towards Hoograven can continue. Cyclists and pedestrians can travel past the work via the south side of ‘t Goylaan.
