Last year, Bereket Petersen had to recognize his superior in Yohannes Gebreselassie during the Oranjeloop of Krabbendijke. In the second edition on Friday evening, the athlete from AV’56 finished comfortably first after 10 kilometers. With 33.38 minutes he was also 13 seconds faster than last year.
Erwin Harmes (34.18) from Nieuwland did much better than last year and now took second place. Nathan Uitslag from Urk was number three with 34.40. Among the women, Esther Lootens (43.21) from AV’56 replaced Linda Versluis with a win among the women. Local favorite Sarien Wisse (44.21) and Merel Schaap (46.32) from Kortgene came second and third.
The 5 kilometer race was a prey for Jan Willem Roelse (16.15) from Goes and Marianne Koster (20.15) from Borssele.
The second edition of the Oranjeloop attracted around 400 participants.
