Joost Klein (26) reported at the airport on Monday morning in a black version of his now well-known Eurovision suit. Before his departure to Malmö, where he will participate in the Eurovision Song Contest on behalf of the Netherlands next week, he announced that he was ready for the mega event. ,,Born ready. I trained a lot, did abdominal exercises and went swimming.”
Klein has his first rehearsal on the Eurovision stage on Tuesday. He did not reveal anything about the content on Monday. “You wouldn’t film the rehearsals of a magician, right? We have twenty suitcases with us, no joke,” said Klein, who, despite the early time, brought a lot of energy as always. “I have a lot of clothes with me, I am a fashionista.”

Klein, on Thursday, May 9 Europapa performs for the first time, cannot yet imagine what awaits him in Sweden. “I am mainly very curious and let it come to me. I’ve been working on this for a year.”

Last week he posted several videos and photos on social media with last year’s Finnish participant, Käärijä, who came second in Liverpool with Cha-cha-cha. The two have good contact and Klein picked up some tips from him. “I went through the act with him and asked what he thinks and feels about it, even though he doesn’t understand a word of what I’m singing. He had little to say, and had some ideas.”

Before his departure, Klein did not answer the question of who will be his biggest competitor for victory in the final on May 11. Self-confident as he is. At the bookmakers it says Europapa currently in third place. “I am my own biggest competitor,” he quipped. “So people: don’t vote for that Dutch participant, he cannot be trusted!”
