The possibility of bombing the Netherlands was discussed on Russian state television. That was done by Andrei Gurulyov, a parliamentarian and former general in the Russian army, and close ally of dictator Vladimir Putin. According to Gurulyov, a bomb on the Netherlands could leave ‘Europe in the cold’.

In the broadcast, which took place on June 22, Gurulyov said he has looked into Europe’s weak spots. He concluded that no less than 40 percent of all crude oil destined for Europe arrives at the port of Rotterdam. Turn that off and you will deprive the European Union of a large part of its energy supply. “Maybe we’ll use an atomic bomb for that, maybe not,” said the Russian.

The Kremlin war propaganda machine has been running at full speed, especially since last week both Ukraine and Moldova became European Union candidates and Lithuania blocked Russian goods transport to Kaliningrad. Russian state television regularly talks about a Third World War, in which various revenge fantasies are unleashed on the west by the Russians. A bombing of the Netherlands is not the first choice, however, the same Gurulyov said later in the week in another conversation on state television. London comes first in his opinion, followed by the satellites used for the missile defense systems.
