UPDATE: Massive police deployment at Stadshart. Suspicious situation on bus
--

Many police units are currently deployed around the Stadshart shopping center in Amstelveen. A street is closed off and buses are at a standstill. The reason for this large police deployment is that a suspicious report was made to the police about a bus. This was stopped at Meander.

The police are in so-called heavy vests. A police spokesperson just told VLN News “a report has been received about a suspicious situation at the shopping center, we take this report very seriously and have therefore collected it.”

UPDATE 2:00 PM – The Amstelveen bus station right next to the shopping center was also evacuated just now (around 1:40 p.m.). A photographer still sees people sitting on a bus. A TEV (explosives scout team) from the Royal Military Police is also on site, as is the (AT) police arrest team. The area is even further and more widely cordoned off.

UPDATE 2:30 PM – The police say they have received a report about a suspicious situation on a bus. This bus stopped at Meander. The police have now investigated the bus. The activity around Meander seems to be decreasing, our reporter on site says.
