Mohamed Ihattaren’s period at Slavia Prague is over after almost four months. The 22-year-old playmaker and the Czech club mutually decided on Sunday to end the collaboration.

“Among other things, the player expressed his wish to focus on his career close to his family,” reports Slavia Prague on X. “Slavia fully supports him in this choice.”

A quick split between Ihattaren and Slavia Prague had been in the air for some time. Earlier this month, VI reported, among others, that the Czech club wanted to get rid of the midfielder due to “a lack of professionalism”.

Ihattaren hoped to revive his career in the Czech Republic after a long series of disappointments. Slavia coach Jindrich Trpisovský initially said that the Utrecht player was doing well and was getting fitter.

Years ago, Ihattaren was considered a super talent at PSV. He gradually fell out with then PSV coach Roger Schmidt, which led to him leaving Eindhoven through the back door in the summer of 2021.

Ihattaren has also been discredited several times off the field

Ihattaren chose Juventus, where he never played an official match. The same applied to a rental period at Sampdoria. He then seemed to find his way up at Ajax, but things went wrong quite quickly there too.

In August last year, Ihattaren found a new club with Samsunspor, but his contract was torn up after just two days.

Ihattaren has also been discredited several times off the field. He was arrested twice for a relationship conflict and in September 2022 his car went up in flames.
