Jannik Sinner added the Masters tournament in Miami to his list of honors on Sunday. The Italian was too strong for Grigor Dimitrov in the final and climbs to second place in the world rankings.

The 22-year-old Sinner awarded Dimitrov, ten years his senior, only four games: 6-3 and 6-1. He decided the match on the hard court in Florida after one hour and fifteen minutes on his first match point.

Last year, Sinner narrowly missed out on winning the tournament in Miami. Then the number three in the world had to recognize his superior in the final battle in Daniil Medvedev, who he left without a chance in the semi-finals of this edition on Saturday.

Sinner is having an excellent season. At the beginning of this year he won his first Grand Slam title at the Australian Open and then he also won the ABN AMRO Open in Rotterdam.

Sinner only lost one game this year. Earlier this month, the Italian lost to Carlos Alcaraz in the semi-finals of Indian Wells.

On Monday, Sinner will take over second place in the world rankings from Alcaraz. Novak Djokovic remains the global number one.
