Travis Scott remains part of the lawsuit surrounding Astroworld. Ten people were killed at that festival in the American city of Houston in 2021.

The judge in the American state of Texas did not agree to a request to remove him and his production company from the case, reports ABC News.

The American rapper’s lawyers had submitted that request. They stated during a hearing on April 15 that Scott was not responsible for safety planning. The lawyers argued that Scott’s responsibilities only covered creative aspects, such as performances and marketing.

Scott was involved in the festival as a co-organizer. During Astroworld, ten people died due to oppression. Hundreds of others were injured.

Last year, a jury in Texas decided that Scott will not face criminal charges for the deadly tragedy. However, there are still civil lawsuits against the rapper. Some relatives have already reached a settlement with Scott.

Earlier this month it was announced that rapper Drake is no longer part of the Astroworld case. Drake was charged for taking the stage with Scott during the event. The Canadian artist felt he should not be charged as he was only performing as a guest.
