Wasn’t it already an incredible sewer before this? I’ve never used it so I could be wrong; but I think there was a clique of people who communicated the “correct” way and if you accidentally got someone’s gender wrong you were banned.

Now you are more likely to encounter someone’s unvarnished opinion because people no longer have to fear being banned for the slightest thing. Now some people may not like the fact that there is more freedom in what you can say, but they can still go to Mastodon or Threads.

So I think it very much depends on which camp you are in whether or not you think it is better. I suspect the 4chan people like it a lot more now .

I like to believe that there are more bots on it; especially considering developments are now taking place so quickly with chatgpt; But is that due to the popularity of the platform that there are the most bots on Twitter or is that due to something else (too few mods to throw them off, etc).

Tweakers is the only “social” medium I use, but here too I notice that if a news item is even slightly politically charged, it becomes a big party of opinion modding (something that I don’t think is done about).

It is good that there is more variety of platforms; the internet is starting to become more and more centralized and there are hardly any really good forums or other discussion platforms left.
