Israeli officials reportedly told their Egyptian counterparts that Israel is willing to give negotiations with Hamas over hostages and prisoners “one last chance.” If a deal is not reached soon, the Israelis will continue their invasion of Rafah.

The American media platform reports this Axios and the Israeli N12 based on Israeli officials.

“Israel told Egypt that it is seriously preparing for the Rafah operation and will not be delayed by Hamas,” one of the officials told the news website Axios.

In the Qatari capital Doha, Israel and Hamas are negotiating a truce in Gaza and the exchange of hostages and prisoners. Diplomats from Qatar and Egypt mediate in this.

An Egyptian official told the news agency Reuters declared that Israel would settle for the release of 33 hostages. An Israeli official confirmed that reading in conversation with N12but also emphasizes that 33 is the minimum number.
