Silent search, music and candy still do not lead to missing German child (6) | Abroad

The six-year-old boy ran away from his parental home in Elm, Germany, on Monday evening. He has been missing ever since. Hundreds of people have been trying to find him for days, but so far searches have turned up nothing.

On Saturday a search was conducted in and around the water and on land. Traces have been found, but the question is whether they were left by Arian. Research is currently being conducted into this.

On Friday and Saturday night, soldiers started a silent search. The boy has autism, so care providers were afraid that he was being put off by all the commotion.

On Sunday morning, firefighters, civil defense, soldiers and other emergency services began the largest search operation to date. Eight hundred people form a 1.5 kilometer wide human chain. They comb the entire search area again in ten hours. GPS trackers must prevent parts from being skipped.

Drones, boats and riders are also used. A total of 1,200 people are involved in the search, German authorities report. They say the enormous stakes show that hope is not lost that Arian will be found.

Rescuers have already tried everything to find the boy. For example, fireworks were set off and loud music was played, because Arian likes that. Balloons and candy were also hung on trees in the hope that they would attract him.
