Feyenoord has secured a new sponsor, it reports Algemeen Dagblad Thursday evening. This concerns the Qatari Q-Terminals.
Last summer, Q-Terminals acquired a majority share in the Kramer Group, a logistics service provider and a container terminal operator on the Rotterdam Maasvlakte.
Q-Terminals’ head office is in Doha, but is therefore well known in Rotterdam and the surrounding area. Q-Terminals takes over the role of Van Donge & De Roo as training sponsor and will be visible on the training clothing of the Rotterdam team from next season.
Van Donge & De Roo, the namesake of the Excelsior stadium, has been visible as a sponsor on Feyenoord’s training clothing since the beginning of July 2022. It is not yet known exactly how much Q-Terminals will pay. It does speak A.D about a ‘million dollar deal’.
Q-Terminals Kramer Rotterdam was originally a Rotterdam family business, as can be read on the website. The company originally started as a repair company in 1963. The company has now grown into a depot and terminal company with several locations in the Rotterdam ports.
On September 18, 2023, Q-Terminals Group acquired a majority stake and the name was changed from ‘Kramer Group’ to ‘Q-Terminals Kramer Rotterdam’, under the umbrella of the Q-Terminals Group.
Mwani Qatar is the major shareholder with 51 percent. The remaining 49 percent falls under Milaha. Q-Terminals makes it possible for Qatar to import and export, smooth maritime trade flows and stimulate the economy, both regionally and locally.
