Boadu is disappointing: “It is Van Wolfswinkel who sits on Oosting’s back”

--

Myron Boadu was hired from AS Monaco last winter. The striker has scored three goals in eight Premier League matches so far. He is currently injured in his hamstring and cannot play. There were high expectations, but at the table in the East Stand opinions are divided about how he is doing so far.

Tijmen van Wissing briefly explains how Boadu is doing, but realizes that these types of injuries are always difficult to predict. “He is training again, but he has a hamstring injury and you really have to be careful with that. You can also see that in Brian Brobbey, who left before half time in the match against Excelsior. It is just a very annoying injury,” said Van Wissing at the Oosttribune.

Van Wissing is not pleased with the performance of the hired striker. “So far you can say that Boadu, with all the effort she has made, does not bring what you expected.” Jan van Staa does not agree with this. “He certainly got his value with those few goals, but I think he expected more from it.” Bert van Losser adds to him. “Certainly the one against Heracles was very important.”

According to Van Wissing, Ricky van Wolfswinkel is more valuable to the team. “He is on a roll and you can see him sitting on the back of Joseph Oosting after that match. He is doing really well.” Van Staa agrees with that. “He is top fit and if you see what he brings both defensively and offensively and is working on a specific goal, that deserves a lot of compliments,” he concludes. The match against AZ is scheduled for Sunday, May 5, 4:45 PM. It is not yet certain whether Boadu can play in the match against his former employer.
