Lionel Messi claimed a leading role at Inter Miami on Saturday with two goals and an assist. Coach Gerardo Martino’s team won the away match in the MLS against New England Revolution 1-4.
Inter Miami did get off to a dramatic start at Gillette Stadium. After a blunder by goalkeeper Drake Callender, Tomás Chancalay made it 1-0 for New England Revolution within a minute.

The 36-year-old Messi then also had a share in the 1-3 and 1-4. On Inter Miami’s third goal, New England Revolution keeper Henrich Ravas turned away Messi’s shot, after which Benjamin Cremaschi netted the rebound.
