The conditions for a possible return of Christian Eriksen to Ajax have become a lot brighter, it is reported ESPN. Although the 32-year-old midfielder is still under contract at Old Trafford until mid-2025, Manchester United is reportedly willing to let him leave next summer. The English top club hopes to be able to collect a transfer fee.
Due to the Profit & Sustainability Regulations (PSR), Manchester United must lose a large number of high earners next summer, so that a budget can be freed up for reinforcements. Due to his annual salary of reportedly nine million euros, Eriksen is also among the group of players who can leave. Manchester United wants to prevent the Danish international from receiving this salary for another year and wants to sell him next summer. Eriksen currently represents an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of 12.7 million euros. It is not known what asking price Manchester United will charge.
According to the English branch of the sports channel, Ajax must take into account stiff competition from top Turkish clubs, including Galatasaray. In addition, it was previously announced that Eriksen is still on the radar of clubs from Saudi Arabia and that clubs from Major League Soccer are also interested in the arrival of the experienced playmaker.

Eriksen himself previously expressed his dissatisfaction with his situation at Manchester United. He has not been a basic player under Erik ten Hag for some time now and that is partly why he entered into discussions with the Dutch coach. “You worry in the long term because you want to play as much as possible. You don’t want to sit on the bench,” Eriksen said. “It’s about proving myself, like you have to do every three days as a footballer, to get back into the starting line-up, so that’s my goal. I’m not happy about not playing, but I don’t lose sleep over it. It is what it is: you are no better than your last match.”
