Andries Noppert returns for the last three competition matches at SC Heerenveen, several media report. Kees van Wonderen has given the goalkeeper back his starting place, meaning Mickey van der Hart has to take a seat on the bench again.

Noppert lost his starting spot at the end of January. After an accumulation of errors, Kees van Wonderen took the starting spot from Noppert. Initially, replacement Van der Hart performed well. But he has also been in poor form in recent weeks, with his hesitant performance against PSV (0-8 defeat) last week as the low point. Van der Hart was on goal in twelve matches for the Frisians this season.

Meanwhile, Noppert was working hard behind the scenes to work on his form. Extra attention was paid to him during private training.

The 30-year-old goalkeeper will make his return to Almere on Friday evening. Heerenveen will then play against Vitesse (home) and Sparta (away). Van Wonderen’s team can still qualify for the play-offs for European football. The gap to number 9 Go Ahead Eagles is six points.
