Sherida Spitse offers Telstar beer for help in title battle against FC Twente (v)

--

The title battle in the Women’s Eredivisie will, just like last season, be decided on the last matchday. Just like then, it was between FC Twente and Ajax, but then the archrivals fought it out in a mutual battle, which was won by the Amsterdam team. This time, the reigning national champion has to visit ADO Den Haag with two points behind and FC Twente plays at home against low-flying Telstar.

This offers hope for FC Twente, because earlier this season the Tukkers won 0-7 in Velsen-Zuid. The last home game against Telstar was almost won by double figures. The score then remained at 9-0. Although FC Twente has everything in its own hands on Saturday, May 11, Ajax captain Sherida striker hopes that Telstar will help fellow provincial Ajax.

“Telstar, that’s around the corner, isn’t it? Hopefully they will help us a bit,” the 231-time Dutch national team international and former Twente player told ESPN. “If that happens, they can come and have a beer. But of course we have to win first. We’ll see about it all,” concludes Spitse, who himself became champion twice in the FC Twente shirt.
