Hello Games has released the update 4.6 for No Man’s Sky, called Orbital. The update introduces some visual improvements, numerous changes to spaceships, and a tool that allows players to design spaceships themselves.

The No Man’s Sky website states that the spaceships in the game have been thoroughly revamped and are now also procedurally generated. The exterior of the spaceships has been reworked, so that more detail and color can be seen in the constructions. The interiors of the spaceships have also been redesigned and in some cases expanded. Improvements have also been made to these interiors, which should make it easier for players to navigate their way through. One of the improvements is also that the in-game stores have received a visual refresh.

Orbital also introduces the Starship Fabricator. This is an in-game tool that allows players to design and build their own spaceships based on reusable components. Players will also be able to disassemble unwanted spaceships and then reuse the released components. Developer Hello Games also reports that the start menu has received a visual refresh. As a result, the user interface should be more consistent from now on. The developer has also made improvements to the lighting model in the game and to the screen space reflection.

No Man’s Sky Update 4.6 is now available for all versions of the game. No Man’s Sky is available for PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One, Series X and S, Nintendo Switch and on PC via Steam and Xbox Game Pass, among others.
