System76 releases an updated version of the Oryx Pro, equipped with an Intel Core i9-14900HX. The other specifications of the laptop remain the same. The entry-level version has a suggested retail price of just under $2,000 and will be delivered in early April. No euro price is known.

The System76 Oryx Pro is a high-end laptop with a 16″ screen that now has the i9-14900HX with 24 cores, namely 8 performance cores and 16 E-cores, and 32 threads. The processor has a maximum clock frequency of 5. 8GHz. The CPU has a power consumption of between 55 and 157 watts. Until recently, the Oryx Pro was supplied with an i9-13900H.

By default, the brand installs its own Linux port Pop!_OS, but there is also the option to choose Ubuntu. Furthermore, System76 supplies the system with its own open source firmware called Open Firmware and Open EC Firmware.

Other specifications of the Oryx Pro remain the same. For example, a 16″ screen with a refresh rate of 165Hz is built into the laptop as standard. Customers can choose from laptop variants of the RTX 4050, 4060 and 4070. The laptop has at least 16GB DDR5 memory with a 4800MHz frequency, but customers can purchase up to 96GB DDR-5600 RAM. In the maximum memory configuration, the Oryx Pro now supports more and faster memory than before. A 500GB M.2 SSD is built-in as standard.
