I switched from Spotify to Google a while ago, immediately canceled my subscription and took YouTube premium (I didn’t listen to music via Spotify anyway, I often find covers, mixes and live versions much better and they are not on Spotify). That was a win-win situation. I thought the big disadvantage of Spotify was that episodes you added to downloads (I did because of a limited data bundle) were always added at the top. As a result, you did not have podcasts listed chronologically and there were sometimes podcasts that I had not yet listened to and were no longer current.

Google doesn’t have that, it adds new episodes at the bottom of the list. A disadvantage of Google was that some channels did not want to update and then suddenly did so again after weeks. Then you first had no new episodes from that channel for weeks and then suddenly all the episodes from the past few weeks in a row, some of which were outdated.

I’m curious how you like pocket casts, because I’m going to try them now.
