The police officer who was found dead in a vehicle last night on the corner of Vieruurbloemstraat and Poncianalaan in Suriname is 33-year-old Rayen Burleson, also known as Burzje.
He was a member of the Regional Assistance Team Paramaribo (RBTP) of the Surinamese police and was also known as an artist and entrepreneur.
Most likely he killed himself. Allegedly, the motive for the agent’s suicide lies in the relational sphere. He allegedly had an argument with his girlfriend who was also in the car.
Colleagues of the department, but also friends and acquaintances have reacted with great dismay to his death.
After the police received the report and arrived on the scene, the area was cordoned off. The pickup truck Rayen was driving was towed away by a tow truck. The Uitvlugt police are investigating the matter further.
